Good to know
Rules & exemptions
- The 15-year broker exemption was eliminated. Since July 1, 2021, all brokers complete CE, including those previously exempt.
- Attorneys admitted to the New York State Bar are exempt from CE but still renew their license.
- CE must be completed within each license term, and extra hours cannot be carried over.
- You can renew starting three months before your expiration date. Renewal is completed online through eAccessNY, where you affirm that your CE is complete.
- Salespersons need a sponsoring broker to renew. There is no grace period to practice after your license expires.
